An 8"/20 cm midrange built on a shallow basket: 150 W RMS, 95 dB, a 38.5 mm EISV voice coil and a 31 Oz ferrite motor. It fits factory doors, rear shelves and panels that simply have no depth for a standard 8". Sold as a pair.

Why the SLIM version
Most doors will not take a standard 8": the window mechanism is in the way. The SLIM basket is shallow, so the 8" cone goes where only a 6.5" used to fit.
200 mm nominal, 182.5 mm cut-out, 209.2 mm outer diameter. More cone area than a 6.5" means more mid-bass at the same volume.
A 1.5" EISV voice coil wound with 220 °C aluminium wire on a 31 Oz ferrite motor: it takes continuous power without heating up.
Compressed paper with fiberglass, black painted, M-ROLL polycotton surround. Light enough to stay fast, rigid enough not to bend at high volume.

Complete the system
Before you install it
- Measure the panel before you cut. The basket is shallow, but the hole is still 182.5 mm with a 209.2 mm outer diameter: check the space around the window mechanism first.
- Do not go below 4 ohm per channel. Two speakers in parallel on one channel give 2 ohm: most amplifiers will heat up or go into protection.
- Use a high-pass filter. This is a midrange, not a woofer: cut below 80 Hz and let the subwoofer do the bass. It runs to 8 kHz, so add a tweeter for the top end.
- Seal the door panel. A midrange in an open door loses mid-bass: sound-deaden the panel and you gain more than changing the speaker.
